I really wish that he made more than two Father O'Malley movies. I loved both of them. But at 16:52 I question the credibility of the Empire Magazine editor... in what world is New York City a "small town"? Has he ever actually watched the movie?

I love Holiday Inn! The film wasn’t just good because of Bing’s singing. The love story was good despite the man’s comment. I watched it as a child with my mom and at 45 years of age it’s still my favorite Christmas movie! That guy doesn’t know what he is talking about! lol

All I know is that "Nell and I" appeared on a "Bing Crosby Sings Stephen Foster Songs," so I would have to think that Stephen Foster was the composer/writer.

I prefer the film White Christmas to Holiday Inn just because of the blackface scene. I still love the movie but it's just too part of a different era now that's too hard to come to terms with.

I always liked bobs music more then bings, but both are gold.

You probably have fond memories with this song, but all I get are night terrors about an 8-foot tall teddy bear breaking into my bedroom window and trying to tear me limb from limb.

I’ve read several biographies written about Bing, many people mentioned that Bing was not the monster some people had said in books. Several people mentioned that Bing’s son that wrote the supposed tell all book said he told lies because the publisher wanted it that way and he was sorry of it. From what I read he was rather a quiet person and unassuming. He had an almost photographic memory and could do a complicated scene in one take after only looking at the lines for a minute. The talent of those people that I watched as a kid, I don’t see any one like them now

I first heard about this song when reading about Tom Lehrer's song "The Old Dope Peddler," and so wanted to hear what it was like. I like the images on this video. I believe they still have gas lights in Westminster, but I assume these are automatically turned on and off, rather than by hand by a lamplighter.
